This is a cruise ship port located about 80 miles from Ho Chi Minh City that is accessible by a new highway in about 90 minutes. Ho Chi Minh City, which was formerly named and is still commonly called Saigon, is the most important city in southern Vietnam. It is notable for its European layout or broad boulevards and narrower residential and commercial streets, a heritage from the French colonial period. Take an underground trip at Cu Chi tunnel where people actually lived during the Vietnam war. Mekong Delta is a good idea for those who love to see the lives on a boat, floating market and local workshop. Alternatively, you could head for the resorts and the beaches of Vung Tau.
